AssistHers Volunteer Orientation

Interested in making a meaningful difference in the life of an LGBTQ+ community member? Join AssistHers by signing up for a volunteer orientation to learn more about the program and begin the next steps toward becoming a volunteer.

AssistHers, a program of the Montrose Center, supports LGBTQ+ women and non-binary individuals living with chronic illness or disabilities by connecting them with practical assistance, community resources, and compassionate, person-centered care.

Volunteers are asked to commit to spending approximately 2–4 hours per month with their assigned client. Volunteer activities may include grocery shopping, dropping off gift cards as needed, light housekeeping (such as washing dishes, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, or doing laundry), providing social interaction, walking a client's dog, and attending quarterly volunteer meetings.

Please note: This sign-up is for the volunteer orientation only. During the orientation, you'll learn more about the program, volunteer expectations, the matching process, and the steps to become an AssistHers volunteer. There is no obligation to complete the volunteer tasks listed above until you have completed orientation, training, and been matched with a client.
