Who We Are

The Montrose Center believes that seniors deserve the right to spend their "rainbow years" with dignity and pride.

Unfortunately, many seniors, especially LGBTQ+ seniors, are not afforded that right. Our Seniors Preparing for Rainbow Years (SPRY) program offers LGBTQ+ seniors life-enhancing services including community outreach, peer group meetups, case management, and a free lunch program. Help us provide for our SPRY seniors as they live out their rainbow years to their fullest.

What We Do

Seniors Preparing for Rainbow Years (SPRY) is a vibrant and growing community of LGBT older adults age 60+, with life-enhancing services to meet a variety of needs unique to our population, including:

  • community outreach
  • men’s support group
  • professional counseling
  • case management
  • social and recreational activities (such as field trips, art classes, bingo games, and LGBTQ movie day)
  • health and wellness education
  • and the Montrose Diner congregate lunch program.

The Montrose Diner congregate lunch program is a great place to connect with other LGBTQ older adults, join activities, and enjoy a freshly prepared nutritious lunch with friends. The Diner is open every Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. Lunch is served at noon. Partners and caregivers are also welcome. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, have some coffee, visit, play games, and join other optional activities as planned.

There is no charge for eligible persons age 60+ to participate; however, we do appreciate your letting us know that you're coming. RSVP by email or by calling (713) 485-5056 and leaving a message.More about Montrose Diner »
